    Last Updated: January 24th, 2026

    1. Purpose

The Port St. Lucie Business Club (PSLBC) is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for all members of our community. This policy exists to clearly outline expectations of conduct, establish procedures for reporting safety-related concerns, and define how PSLBC leadership will respond when concerns arise.

PSLBC recognizes that community-building involves people, relationships, and responsibility. While no organization is perfect, PSLBC is committed to acting with integrity, urgency, and care when safety or conduct concerns are brought forward.

    2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals affiliated with PSLBC, including but not limited to:

    • Founders and leadership
    • Community Connectors
    • Volunteers
    • Event participants
    • Contractors or collaborators
    • Any individual representing PSLBC in person, online, or through media

Affiliation with PSLBC is a privilege, not a right, and may be suspended or revoked at the discretion of PSLBC leadership when necessary to protect community safety and organizational integrity.

    3. Standards of Conduct

PSLBC expects all affiliated individuals to:

    • Act with professionalism, integrity, and respect
    • Communicate in a manner that is free from harassment, intimidation, or abuse
    • Respect personal boundaries and differing perspectives
    • Use PSLBC platforms and representation responsibly
    • Avoid behavior that undermines trust, safety, or the mission of PSLBC

PSLBC does not tolerate harassment, threats, discrimination, intimidation, or conduct that places others at risk.

    4. Safety-Related Concerns

Safety-related concerns may include, but are not limited to:

    • Concerns involving the safety of adults or minors
    • Criminal history concerns relevant to representation or participation
    • Harassment, intimidation, or threatening behavior
    • Abuse of authority or misuse of a leadership role
    • Conduct inconsistent with PSLBC’s mission, values, or community standards

PSLBC reserves the right to determine whether a concern falls within the scope of this policy.

    5. Reporting Concerns

    Reporting Options

PSLBC provides multiple avenues for reporting safety or conduct concerns:

Reports may be submitted anonymously. Individuals are encouraged, but not required, to provide as much detail as possible to assist with review.

    Non-Retaliation

Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited. Any retaliatory behavior will be treated as a serious violation of this policy.

    6. Review & Response Process

    Safety Review Group

Reports are reviewed by a designated Safety Review Group, consisting of select members of PSLBC leadership. This group is responsible for ensuring concerns are handled promptly, fairly, and confidentially.

    Initial Acknowledgment

Reports will be acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt whenever possible.

    Initial Review

The Safety Review Group will conduct an initial review within 24-48 hours to assess urgency and determine next steps.

    Interim Measures

PSLBC reserves the right to take immediate interim action when credible safety concerns arise. This may include:

    • Temporary suspension of affiliation or roles
    • Removal from events or platforms
    • Pausing representation of PSLBC

Interim measures are not disciplinary findings and may be implemented while a review is ongoing.

    7. Fact-Finding & Determination

When appropriate, the Safety Review Group may:

    • Review available information and documentation
    • Request additional details from the reporting party
    • Offer the individual involved an opportunity to respond

PSLBC is not a court of law and does not conduct criminal investigations. Decisions are made solely to determine affiliation and participation based on community safety and organizational values.

Final determinations may include, but are not limited to:

    • No action
    • Continued interim measures
    • Removal from specific roles
    • Termination of affiliation with PSLBC

    8. Confidentiality

All reports and reviews will be handled with discretion. Information will be shared only on a need-to-know basis to protect privacy and the integrity of the process.

    9. False or Malicious Reports

PSLBC accepts anonymous reports in good faith. However, knowingly false or malicious reports intended to harm others or disrupt the organization are prohibited and may result in legal consequences.

    10. Communication

PSLBC will communicate outcomes only when appropriate and necessary. Details of reports, investigations, or individuals involved may not be publicly disclosed.

    11. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as needed to ensure it continues to serve the best interests of the PSLBC community.

    12. Commitment

PSLBC is committed to learning, improving, and acting responsibly. Our priority is the safety, trust, and well-being of the community we serve.
